except a sexy blonde colonel strategist who can’t plan worth a crap.
Marge is a blonde bombshell who has been warming the beds of the many generals who came before Logan. (Generals don’t last long on the East Coast before someone kills them.) And Marge hasn’t tried to help any of the prior generals, since they had all been corrupt—pushing the colonels to make them richer by selling equipment to the enemy. The colonels, preferring to be rich by themselves, would kill the generals when they got too greedy. Thus, Logan is the first ‘good’ general she’s ever encountered on the East Coast. It complicates her job a bit, but she really does want to keep him alive. When he proves he has the mettle to send evil men to their deaths, she opens up and lets him realize she’s actually Secret Service, and they both have the same objective. But Logan has higher ethics, so they still squabble over matters.
Stationed on opposite coasts, Alisha and Logan must each face their own demons and challenges. On the West Coast, Alisha loses her rank for butting heads with General Powell and soon discovers the life of a private can be utter hell. On the East Coast, newly promoted General Logan discovers his soldiers do not recognize his authority to command. In an effort to retake control of the East Coast Corps, Logan authorizes unthinkable actions. When Alisha faces a life-threatening crisis, will Logan rise above his own troubles, or will she discover love and rescue with her best friend Jack?
“We all make sacrifices for the Corps,” she observed. “It wasn’t a big deal to me. One man’s pretty much the same as another. If it would help me do my job and keep me safe at the hub of activity, I had no problem with it.”
“Still, you shouldn’t have been asked to do that.”
She leaned forward. “Logan, I wasn’t asked to do it. It was my plan. I went over my colonel’s head and submitted it directly to MAC. I wanted this assignment.”
“Just to get promoted?”
“The promotion felt good, gave the beauty queen something to cry over, but I didn’t do this for a promotion. I did this to help save the Corps. I came out of the East Coast training camps. Servicing the alpha male was nothing new to me. I learned early on that the faster you latch onto an alpha male, the fewer men you service on a nightly basis.”
Logan shook his head in disgust. “Does that still happen?” he asked, thinking about the three female Ryders he had brought from the West Coast.
“Oh yeah, but before you go running out and gathering up your female from the West Coast, they know the drill. They all have their alpha males."
