Bright and early this morning, she faced down and eradicated a threatening spider web that had sprung up overnight between our porch and my vehicle. Single…no double-handedly (mostly waving them over her head), she disarmed the sticky silk trap clearly set up to take me hostage. Then, without any help at all, she captured the huge eight-legged terrorist.
In her hair.
With a battle cry that shook the entire neighborhood, she plucked the orange-speckled fiend from her glossy tresses and flung it at least thirty-five feet into the neighbor’s yard--thus saving my life!
So, thank you, my darling daughter for being the warrior you are and making sure you mother lived another day without becoming arachnid fodder. You're my hero.
I love you, honey!
