Happy New Year, my peeps! It is my great pleasure to welcome author Emerian Rich to my blog--first one of 2021! I've known Em for almost as long as I've been an author. She is witty, charming, and absolutely wicked smart. So, when she mentioned the Spooky Planning Program she and author Loren Rhoads developed to me, I said, "My peeps must know about this!"

EMERIAN RICH: I give lectures and sit on panels throughout the year, answering questions for writers and creatives. The most frequent questions I’m asked are… How do you do so much? How do you stay organized?
The answer is usually a laugh-encrusted, “Blah! You think I’m organized?”
When outsiders see my posts on social media as a podcaster, voice actress, author, columnist, artist, editor, and publisher, they think I’ve got it all figured out. They are right in one respect. I do have A LOT of tools that I use on a regular basis to help me keep track of and generate my ideas and projects. However, to think that I’m the Martha Stewart of the writing world would be a very wrong image to have in mind.
Most of my organization has to do with little Japanese thin-books. Each one is dedicated to a project or list and I pull each one as I need it. Great system, but what happens when I’m going on a trip or not at my desk? I don’t have all those lists with me or in one place.
But what if I did have one book where all my stats and contact info could be in one spot? How much more organized would I be? How much more work could I get done if it took me a flip of a page to find something instead of searching through my many notebooks to find the info?
And so, with the help of my colleague and friend, Loren Rhoads, we created the Spooky Writer’s Planner, a writer-dedicated planner that addresses the pains and worries of the everyday writer, whether you be a bestseller or just starting out.
