But what about Amazon, you may ask? Alas, for the foreseeable future, no. Not until the almighty Zon changes it's royalty policy for books over $9.99 or under $2.99.
Currently, Amazon’s TOS regarding royalties states that for ebooks priced between $2.99-$9.99, an indie* author gets 70% of each sale. Which is completely reasonable, and standard within the industry.
However, for any ebooks priced below or above those price points, indie authors get only 30% of each sale.
Thirty. Percent.
That’s pretty much a gut-punch when every other non-Amazon seller platform pays authors 70% royalties (or more) for their ebooks, regardless of retail price. Imagine your employer telling you that you get paid only 30% of your salary two days out of the work week. Would you hang around when the competition is offering you full salary every day of the week?
I hope this makes my reasoning a little clearer. I promise, if Amazon ever does match their royalty rates for ebooks over $9.99 to what the other platforms offer, then yes, by all means I will make this digital boxed set available on their platform.
In the meantime, the individual books in this series are available on major book platforms, including Amazon. Also, think about the advantages of joining KoboPlus where all my published books are available to read for free, including the Silverstar series boxed set!
Read on, my peeps!
XOXO

(*this policy applies to indie authors only. Publishing houses negotiated to get the same slice of their authors' royalties pies no matter their book's price point. I do not know what percentage they get, only that it is not 30%.)
