Hey, all! The Kirks had a couple of fun trips during September. First up, we went to San Diego to see the Savannah Bananas play the Firefighters at Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres)! Holy smoke, was that the best entertainment value we've had in a loooong time! Over eight hours of solid fun, and it continued even after we dragged our exhausted selves back to our hotel. If you ever have the chance to attend a game, DO IT! All of us highly recommend!
The festivities kicked off at 2:30 p.m. with a "meet the teams" confab in the plaza. Got pix with some of the Bananas team, including RAC (Robert Anthony Cruz). Then the fam headed up to an overlook to take in the pre-game show. I'm pretty sure all of us danced for two hours straight!
We got to our seats around 5pm (yes, they were in the nose-bleed section, but still...!) The game started at 6:30, but the time before the official play clock started was chock full of more entertainment. Seriously, it was non-stop fun! And even us "nose-bleeders" were pulled into the action! So refreshing after years of being ignored at major league baseball games.
For those of you who follow Banana Ball, the games themselves are only two action-packed hours. We sang, we danced, and we celebrated when RAC made the winning final catch with his signature backflip. But get this, we found out a couple of days later that he had been playing with a fractured left wrist! And the dude's a leftie! Not sure if it was already injured in the picture I took with him below, but he's out for the remainder of the season.

Our second trip found us back in the mountains for a little R&R, and to celebrate Mr. Kirk's birthday. Lots of walks, great meals, a lake across the street, board games, and star gazing. And that wraps up our planned trips for 2025. Looks like we'll be home-bodies for a while. I've had fun sharing our adventures with you and look forward to more next year!
